       Provide professional development for teachers.
       Promote parent education and involvement.

Title 1 is a federally funded program designed to offer extra academic assistance to students to ensure that all children meet the challenging state standard in literacy and math

The reading instruction that your child receives in Title 1 is designed to strengthen his/her reading abilities and provide effective literacy strategies that can be used to improve and build upon your child’s current reading skills.  The specialized reading instruction your child receives not only supports the learning intentions taught in the classroom but also will focus on using a variety of reading strategies (using picture clues, sentence structure and phonics), as well as comprehension and fluency.
